Legal Expenses Cover is included in the Landlords Buildings Insurance policy. Once a landlord has selected the buildings insurance, they can also choose our Rent Guarantee insurance.

Legal Expenses Cover is valid for the same duration as the Buildings Insurance Policy with which it is provided and applies to the owner of the Property.

Why do you need Legal Expenses Cover?

Whether you buy a property specifically to rent out, or are renting out your own home due to work or personal reasons, you need to ensure that income from the tenant will be sustained throughout the Tenancy Agreement.

Defaults, arrears and breaches of the Tenancy Agreement can be costly. Without insurance, you will suffer financially as a result of lost rent, and must pay any legal costs from your own pocket. Indications are that this process may take between 5-7 months and in excess of £895* in legal costs, furthermore, your own Solicitor may not specialise in this field of law.
